This Pest Academy Workshop training will consist of three 1-hour sessions that qualify for 3 total hours of structural pest control credit in ILLINOIS and INDIANA. This 3-hour training is led by speakers Nick Fugate of LiphaTech and Travis Chambers of BASF and covers the following topics: perimeter pest control and fall invaders, safety reminders for every technician, and understanding rodent behavior and control.
The training will start at 8:00 am CDT, so be sure you are logged in a few minutes early.

Session 1 – Perimeter Pest Control and Fall Invaders

Also hear how to identify fall invaders such as flies, brown marmorated stink bugs, and other true bugs, and how to best control them in this session that is packed with advanced training tips for novice and veteran PMPs.

Safety should be a focus for every technician. Discover how to identify and overcome safety pitfalls you can encounter before you leave the office while driving, and on the job site that can lead to injury. Learn to identify bad habits that can end in injury and how to avoid them; in this comprehensive safety training course that goes beyond the basics.

Session 3 – Understanding Rodent Behavior and Control

Rodents are among the top public health pests that PMPs deal with on a regular basis. They damage structures, contaminate our food and can make us sick. Learn the complicated biology and behavior of these dangerous pests and how to use that information to improve your control program in this exciting and informative training session.

Who is Nick Fugate? Nick is not only a husband and a father but he a person of efficiency. He thrives to make sure the job gets done but always in the most effective manner. He has spend the last 7 year in the industry, with 6.5 with Kness Mfg. covering 12 states and 39 countries and recently joined the Liphatech team covering 9 states in the Midwest and Canada. He has spent those last 7 years helping companies find the right tools for the job and help them get the job done.
Jason Meyers, Ph.D., BASF Professional & Specialty Products
Jason has been a Technical Services Representative for BASF Professional & Specialty Solutions since 2009. Prior to that he was a Sales Representative for BASF for one year. Jason graduated from Texas A&M with his doctorate in Urban Entomology studying under Dr. Roger Gold on identifying and controlling the invasive tawny crazy ant. At A&M he also held positions as a graduate, research, and teaching assistant. Jason also received a MS from the University of Arkansas in Entomology with graduate work emphasizing insect pathology. Jason has multiple publications in peer reviewed journals and has provided educational materials and articles through professional magazines. He has provided many and varied educational and research presentations in our industry for over 15 years.
